The often-precarious pursuit of the American dream and stories of contemporary queer experience brilliantly collide in this session headed by Iowa Writers’ Workshop graduate Rafael Frumkin and PEN America finalist Alejandro Varela. These authors’ titles demonstrate that, while the queer experience comes with its own set of unique challenges, capitalism presents an additional layer of expectations through which queer people must strategically operate.
