Alejandro Varela (he/him) is a writer based in New York. His work has appeared in the Point Magazine, Boston Review, Harper’s Magazine, and Guernica, among other publications. He is also the author of the story collection The People Who Report More Stress (Astra House). His debut novel, The Town of Babylon was a finalist for the National Book Award in 2022 and longlisted for the Aspen Prize and Pen America Open Book Award.
