Internationally-bestselling and award-winning authors Jacqueline Woodson and Angie Thomas unite to discuss their latest works that spotlight the young African American experience. Woodson, winner of the National Book Award for her celebrated memoir Brown Girl Dreaming, explores loss, community, and coming of age in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood in the 1970s with Remember Us. Thomas, author of the highly acclaimed novel The Hate U Give, makes her middle-grade debut with Nic Blake and the Remarkables: The Manifestor Prophecy — the first installment of her new contemporary fantasy trilogy inspired by African American history and folklore. Join Woodson and Thomas in a conversation about Black girlhood, fantasy, history, and community.
