In highly anticipated new crime novels, bestselling author Attica Locke (Heaven, My Home) and novelist and Los Angeles Review of Books noir editor Steph Cha (Your House Will Pay) go beneath the surface of page-turning mysteries to examine racial tensions in the towns and characters they write about. These stories, about two families of color grappling with unrest in early 1990s Los Angeles and a black Texas Ranger looking for the missing son of white supremacists in East Texas, each demonstrate the unique way the genre approaches issues of injustice.
