Youmna Chlala is a writer and artist born in Beirut and based in New York. She is the author of the poetry collection, The Paper Camera (Litmus Press 2018) and recipient of an O. Henry Award (2018) and a Joseph Henry Jackson Award (2009). She is the founding editor of Eleven Eleven (1111) Journal of Literature and Art. Her writing appears in publications such as Prairie Schooner, BOMB, Guernica, Bespoke, Aster(ix), CURA and the MIT Journal of Middle Eastern Studies. She is a Professor in Humanities & Media Studies and Writing Departments at the Pratt Institute.
