Sherri Maret was born and raised in Texas. Her Choctaw side of the family resided in Oklahoma. She now lives in the state of Washington. Teachers and librarians were her greatest source of strength when her mother passed unexpectedly. She went on to become an English teacher and then a library media specialist. When she moved from a senior high library to an elementary library, she began writing stories and plays for children. She loves reading, writing, magic, and spending time in nature and with her granddaughter. Her writing career began with the publishing of The Cloud Artist (English/Choctaw) which was a finalist for three awards. Twelve Days of Winter: A Wildlife Celebration is her most recent picture book.
