Rubén Degollado is from the Río Grande Valley where the majority of his fiction takes place. He has been published in Beloit Fiction Journal, Gulf Coast, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Image, and the anthologies, Juventud, Fantasmas and Bearing the Mystery. He has been a finalist in American Short Fiction’s annual contest, Glimmer Train’s Family Matters and Fiction Open Contests, and Bellingham Review’s Tobias Wolff Award. His debut novel, Throw, was published by Slant Books in 2019.
