Peniel E. Joseph

Dr. Peniel E. Joseph is the Barbara Jordan Chair in Ethics and Political Values at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and professor of history and Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at the University of Texas at Austin. He is the author of numerous books on Black History, a contributing writer for CNN.com, and a frequent national commentator on issues of civil rights, anti-racism, and democracy who was recently featured in Texas Monthly’s magazine and podcast about the Black Lives Matter protests sweeping the nation.
