Patricia Engel is the author of five books including, most recently, a short story collection titled The Faraway World, and the novel Infinite Country, which was a New York Times Bestseller, a Reese’s Book Club pick, winner of the New American Voices Award, and named a Washington Post Notable Book of the Year. She is also the author of The Veins of the Ocean, winner of the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, It’s Not Love, Just Paris, winner of the International Latino Book Award, and Vida, a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway and Young Lions Fiction Awards and winner of Colombia’s Premio Biblioteca de Narrativa Colombiana. She is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and an O. Henry Award and is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Miami.
