Norma Elia Cantú

Norma Elia Cantú, currently serves as the Norine R. and T. Frank Murchison Distinguished Professor of the Humanities at Trinity University in San Antonio. The author of the award-winning _Canícula: Snapshots of a Girlhood en la Frontera_, she publishes in the areas of folklore, literary studies, women’s studies and border studies. As editor of two book series: Literatures of the Americas (Palgrave) and Rio Grande/Rio Bravo (Texas A&M Press), she fosters the publication of critical scholarship. She is cofounder of CantoMundo, a space for Latin@ poets and belongs to the Macondo Writers Workshop. Her most recent publications include Cabañuelas and Meditación Fronteriza, Poems of Love, Life and Labor.
