Lauren Hilgers

Lauren Hilgers lived in Shanghai, China for six years. Her work has appeared in Harper’s, Wired, Bloomberg Businessweek, The New Yorker, and The New York Times Magazine. A recipient of a 2017 MacDowell Colony Fellowship, Hilgers has written about tomb raiders in the Henan Province, political scandals in Beijing, and immigrant cooks in New York City. She currently lives in New York with her husband and their daughter.
