Ian McEnroe

Ian McEnroe was born in Michigan but grew up in Texas. His interest in photography started with a manual camera on which he learned to shoot film. Ian earned his fine-arts degree from the University of Texas, which led to his award-winning photography and a long career as a photographic consultant and an instructor to hundreds of students at all levels of learning. When he’s not taking photos, he enjoys painting, jazz, collecting records, reading, coffee, and, of course, good food.

In 2013 Ian and Mariana co-created the cooking blog, Yes, more please!, where they combine their skills in creating recipes, photography, writing, design, and production. Driven by their motto, “An extra serving of cooking inspiration . . . ,” they work to inspire people to get into the kitchen and to cook from scratch. Together, they have since created more than 150 original and traditional recipes with step-by-step photos, showcasing Mariana’s cooking and production design and Ian’s photography. In 2014 the Austin Chronicle named their blog one of the top ten local cooking blogs, and a year later their blog was invited to be an official participant and recipe contributor for Expo Milano 2015. They have developed recipes for national and local brands, and their work has been featured at Huffpost, Food52, the James Beard Foundation Instagram feed, The Kitchn, Country Living, The Today Show‘s website, and in the Austin American-Statesman, to name a few. They have given food photography workshops and cooking and photography classes. Ian and Mariana are happily married and live in Austin, Texas.
