Gabriela Couturier was born in Mexico City, where she studied International Relations at El Colegio de México. She also holds an MBA from Harvard University. She was a consultant and an entrepreneur before giving it all up to write professionally. A world citizen by vocation, she has lived in Tours, France, in Birmingham, England and in Boston, MA. She is married to a Greek and has spent several years in Nicosia, Cyprus. Her essays and short stories have appeared in major political magazines and cultural supplements in Mexico. She has published two novels, Esa otra orfandad (That Other Orphanhood) in 2016, and Siempre un destierro (Always a Banishment) in 2019. She is currently working on her next novel.
