Elisa is an illustrator born in Lima, Peru, who did much of her growing up in Northern Michigan. She is most motivated to create work that promotes inclusiveness, inspires happiness and curiosity, and helps kids from all different backgrounds feel special. Some of her favorite past book projects include Rainbow Weaver (Lee & Low Books), Federico and the Wolf (Clarion Books), Sharuko (Lee & Low Books) and My Little Golden Book About Frida Kahlo (Random House). Elisa lives in Alpena, Michigan, with her husband and two young children.
