Elaine Ayala is a Metro columnist for the San Antonio Express-News. Her Metro column appears on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, where she covers San Antonio and Bexar County with special focus on communities of color, demographic shifts, Latino politics, migration, education, and arts and culture. She is graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Maynard Institute’s Editing Program, in which she also taught.
