Dayton Duncan

Dayton Duncan is the author of thirteen books, including Out West: A Journey Through Lewis & Clark’s America, in which he retraced the historic route of the expedition, and Miles from Nowhere, about the most sparsely settled counties in the United States. He has collaborated with Ken Burns for nearly thirty years on acclaimed documentaries for PBS, including The National Parks: America’s Best Idea and The Dust Bowl. His writing and producing have won many prizes, ranging from Spur Awards from the Western Writers of America to two Emmy Awards. His and Burns’s most recent documentary is “Country Music,” a 16-hour series for PBS being broadcast in September 2019. He lives in Walpole, New Hampshire
