A native of Beaumont in southeast Texas, David Everett has been influenced by the imagery of the natural world and the human figure since childhood. He has been living in Austin, Texas since 1970 where he studied at UT Austin, completing his BFA in 1972 and MFA in 1975. Along with pursuing his artwork, Everett taught classes at Southwestern University and the museum school at The Contemporary Austin. He maintains a studio in Austin where he focuses on sculpture, drawings, and woodcuts.
