In new books about the making of two famous films of the 1960s, award-winning writers Geoff Dyer (Broadsword Calling Danny Home) and W. K. Stratton (The Wild Bunch) take us behind the scenes of Where Eagles Dare, starring Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton, and Sam Peckinpah’s The Wild Bunch. Loving homages by fans of these films that also look at the cultural forces at play when they were created, Dyer and Stratton demonstrate the legacy of these moving pictures and why they have endured.
