Beginning with Spanish colonial paintings and moving through two and a half centuries of art in Texas, Ron Tyler, retired director of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth and former professor of history and director of UT’s Texas State Historical Association, presents this new survey, the first attempt to analyze and characterize Texas art on a grand scale.
