Rendon’s Sinister Graves, set in 1970s Minnesota, follows Cash Blackbear, a young Ojibwe woman who is attempting to figure out the truth behind the murders of two girls. Emerson’s Shutter tells the story of forensic photographer Rita Todacheene, who is supernaturally good at her job— when a ghost attaches itself to her, Rita must find a way to help it, and herself. Phillips’s One Shot Harry follows Harry Ingram, a forensic photographer who must face racists, gangsters, zealots, and lovers in order to obtain truth and justice for a friend.
