Capitol Extension Room E2.028
State Capitol, Austin

Join muralist, community art advocate, and author of ATX Urban Art J Muzacz in conversation with the authors of A Curious Mix of People — music journalist Greg Beets and documentary filmmaker Richard Whymark. ATX Urban Art is a first-of-its-kind book chronicling the history of over sixty years of Austin street art, graffiti, and murals alongside the stories of their artists. Focusing on one specific era, A Curious Mix of People documents the 90s underground music scene in Austin from the people who lived and breathed it. Join these authors in a discussion about the spectacular weirdness and realness of Austin’s art and music scenes across time and space — and how to keep these scenes weird and real.
