Authors Jazmina Barrera (Linea Negra) and Reyna Grande (A Ballad of Love and Glory / Corrido de amor y gloria) gather to discuss their experiences in the translation process of their latest works. Reyna Grande’s book is set in the mid-nineteenth century Rio Grande Valley and tells the story of a Mexican nurse and a US Army defector who find love and fight for survival during the Mexican-American War. Jazmina Barrera’s Linea Nigra is a book-length essay on the art and mystery of childbearing.
