Family, Art, Injury, and Forgiveness: A Conversation with Memoirist Lorena Junco Margain
12:45 pm - 1:30 pm
Sunday, October 31, 2021

Due to safety concerns while pregnant, Lorena Junco Margain (On the Way to Casa Lotus) abruptly flees Mexico and relocates in the United States. Already rattled by the cross-border experience, she finds that things only go downhill from there: a straightforward surgery could relieve her of a tumor a doctor has discovered on her adrenal gland, but the results of the eventual surgery are devastating and only make things worse. Despite the hardships in her way, Junco Margain ultimately finds herself on a journey of forgiveness, acceptance, and understanding.
