Cliques, Clubs, and Secret Societies: New in Texas Fiction
2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
Thursday, October 28, 2021

Join two Austin authors as they discuss their fast-paced new novels, both centered on mysterious societies. In May Cobb’s The Hunting Wives, it’s a gun-toting posse of hard-partying women . . . who may be complicit in a murder. In Chandler Baker’s The Husbands—currently being made into a feature film starring Kristen Wiig—it’s a Stepford-esque utopia where the women put their professions first while the guys stay home and cover the chores, but main character Nora Spangler senses not everything is as it seems.
