Join Dr. Emilio Zamora, Aurelio M. Montemayor, Thomas Ray Garcia, and Juan Tejeda to discuss Chicano activism and civil rights for the 21st-century audience. In Defense of My People is a translation of pioneering attorney, activist, and U.S. diplomat Alonso S. Perales’ En defensa de mi raza, originally published in 1936 and 1937. El Curso de la Raza: The Education of Aurelio Manuel Montemayor follows modern Chicano activist and educator Aurelio M. Montemayor’s journey as an activist. Juan Tejeda will also lend his voice to this conversation on behalf of the late Dr. Roberto Cintli Rodriguez and his book, Writing 50 Years (más o menos) Amongst the Gringos.
