We’re thrilled to announce that applications for Texas Book Festival’s Reading Rock Stars program are now open for two regions: Rio Grande Valley and Houston. Through the Reading Rock Stars program, Texas Book Festival brings nationally recognized authors to Title I elementary schools in regions across Texas and provides a signed book to every student in our partner schools. Since 2005, TBF has donated more than 167,000 books to students and provided 759 author visits through this program. RGV and Houston educators, don’t miss the opportunity to bring Reading Rock Stars to your school! The deadline to apply is Monday, June 10, 2024.

We commit to our Reading Rock Stars partner schools to bring the program to them for three consecutive years, so the application window is not open in every region every year. Opportunities will be available for RGV, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, El Paso, and Austin in 2025. We invite schools to subscribe to the TBF newsletter and follow us on all social media channels @texasbookfest to learn when applications reopen in their region.
