Lara Medina

Lara Medina holds a Ph.D. in History from the Claremont Graduate University and a M.A. in Theology from the Graduate Theological Union. She is a professor in Chicana/o Studies at California State University, Northridge. Her previous book publication is Las Hermanas: Chicana/Latina Religous Political Activism in the U.S. Catholic Church (Temple University Press, 2004). She has several chapter publications addressing Chicana feminist spirituality. Her current co-edited book, Voices from the Ancestors and Beyond: Xicanx and Latinx Spiritual Expressions and Healing Practices offers a collection of 85 voices addressing how to live as spiritually conscious Latinx in the current challenging times. The reflections and practices offer a return to ancestral wisdoms before colonization and the displacement of Indigenous knowledge. The collection offers essays, poems, and personal and communal healing ritual practices.
