We’re amped to bring Literary Death Match back to Lit Crawl Austin!

Join us on Saturday, November 4 at 7:00pm at the North Door (501 Brushy Street) when four authors and three all-star judges come together for the ultimate literary showdown. Doors are at 6:30pm; suggested donation of $10. Copies of the participants’ books will be available for sale, courtesy of Bookpeople.

What is Literary Death Match? Part literary event, part comedy show, part game show, Literary Death Match brings together four of today’s finest writers to compete in an edge-of-your-seat read-off critiqued by three celebrity judges, and concluded by a slapstick showdown to decide the ultimate champion.

JUDGES:
Literary Merit: Dan Chaon, Story Prize-finalist and best-selling author of Ill Will and Stay Awake
Performance: Maya Perez, writer, producer/consultant for Austin Film Festival’s On Story, and a board member of the Austin Film Festival
Intangibles: Elena Passarello, Whiting Award-winning author of Animals Strike Curious Poses and Let Me Clear My Throat
