Rosa María Beltrán Álvarez (Mexico City, 1960) is among the most lucid and original voices in contemporary Spanish-language literature. A prolific novelist, short story writer, essayist, translator, and researcher, her books have been the subject of essays and theses; translated into Slovenian, French, English, Italian, and Dutch; and included in national and international anthologies. She has been recognized by numerous associations for her contributions to literature written by women.
