Naomi Shihab Nye

Naomi Shihab Nye is Young People’s Poet Laureate for the Poetry Foundation until 2022. She is editor of the New York Times Magazine poems and on faculty at Texas State University. Recent books include The Tiny Journalist, which won the Texas Institute of Letters Poetry Prize, Voices in the Air: Poems for Listeners, and Cast Away. She is recipient of two recent “Lifetime Achievement Awards” from the Texas Institute of Letters and the National Book Critics Circle (Ivan Sandrof Award.) She lives in San Antonio with her husband, photographer Michael Nye.
