Hello again, book lovers! We have great news about an upcoming event that will help you fill up some of the empty space on your bookshelf (or nightstand, if your shelf is full like ours), and will also support the Texas Teen Book Festival. Here’s what’s happening:
On Tuesday, August 16, BookPeople will donate 10% of each sale to the Texas Teen Book Festival. The TTBF takes place on Saturday, October 1, at St. Edward’s University, and features some of the best YA authors around. There will be signings, panels, a writing contest, and plenty of other activities throughout the course of the day. All around, it’s an exciting and fun time, designed to encourage young readers and give them the chance to come face to face with their favorite authors.
Further information about the authors attending, the writing contest, and how to get involved can be found at http://texasteenbookfestival.org/.
Not sure which books you’d like to pick up on the 16th? We recently put up a list of suggestions, talking about some great summer Young Adult reads, which you can find here. The list includes only seven of the books you can find at BookPeople, though, so don’t be afraid to look around and find something that interests you, or to shop for someone else. Hopefully we’ll see you there on August 16, and at the Texas Teen Book Festival on October 1!
