Of course, you can still catch Marcus talking about The Red Rooster Cookbook at the Texas Book Festival on Saturday, November 5 at 4:15pm. He’ll be speaking and signing books at First United Methodist Church. The talk is free to attend! Books will be available for sale courtesy of Barnes & Noble.
Texas Book Festival is pleased to present a special opportunity to sit down and dine with one of the world’s master chefs, Marcus Samuelsson. Join us at Olamaie on Saturday, November 5 at 11:00am when Chef Michael Fojtasek, one of Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs”, presents a three course brunch, mimosas included, based on Samuelsson’s new cookbook, The Red Rooster Cookbook.
Tickets cost $125 and include a three course brunch, drinks and a signed copy of The Red Rooster Cookbook. Samuelsson will be on hand to mingle with guests and talk about his new book, which tells the story of his famed Red Rooster restaurant in Harlem in lyrical essays and stunning archival and contemporary photos. Red Rooster has become a gathering place not only for Southern black and cross-cultural food, but for community.
Later that same day, on Saturday, November 5, Samuelsson will sit down with food writer Paula Disbrowe at First United Church at Texas Book Festival to discuss The Red Rooster Cookbook.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to dine with a celebrity chef while enjoying the fine cooking of one of the best new chefs cooking today!
