Notice of Proposed Closures
For 19 years, the Texas Book Festival (TBF) has connected Texans to the nation’s most accomplished authors through its annual two-day Festival, one of the premier literary events in the country. The TBF has also awarded more than $2.6 million in total grants to Texas public libraries, reached more than 52,000 children in low-income Texas schools through our reading Rock Stars program, engaged over 1,000 dedicated volunteers annually, and partnered actively with other organizations to offer engaging programming throughout the year and across the state.
Thanks to the generosity of individuals like you, the TBF is able to offer the Festival free of charge, enabling more than 40,000 visitors each year to celebrate authors and a culture of literacy in Texas. Free cultural and educational events are increasingly rare. Your support allows the Texas Book Festival to sustain our mission and programs.

What: 2014 Texas Book Festival
When: Sat., Oct. 25 & Sun., Oct. 26 2014
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Sat.)
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Sun.)
The 2014 Texas Book Festival will take place on October 25 & 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Congress Ave., Eleventh St. and Colorado St. An estimated 40,000 visitors will attend the Festival over the two days. The Festival will temporarily close city streets near your business, residence, religious center or neighborhood.
Festival street closures begin at 6:00 p.m. 10/24 on Congress Ave. between 8th & 11th, Eleventh St. between Lavaca St. & San Jacinto Blvd. and reopen at 11:59 p.m. 10/26. Extended closures begin at 9:00 a.m. 10/23 on Colorado St. between W. 11th St. & W. 13th St. and reopen at 2:00 p.m. 10/27.
