Father’s Day Book Recommendations

By on

Depending on what kind of dad you’re shopping for this week (REMINDER: Father’s Day is this Sunday!), we’ve got a few different recommendations for your list. If you want more ideas tweet at @texasbookfest using #fathersdaybooks

For the new dad:

Go the F**k to Sleep by Adam Mansbach, Illustrated by Ricardo Cortes

Go the F**k to Sleep by Adam Mansbach, Illustrated by Ricardo Cortes

How about a book that perfectly captures the nightly struggle for dad’s everywhere in a nice little illustrated coffee table package? When daddy’s little angel is making it tough for everyone to get some z’s, commiserate and enjoy.

For the old school dad:

puzo godfather

The Godfather by Mario Puzo

Listen, we’re not suggesting you read this book for fatherly advice, but if Hollywood has taught us anything, this is the *ultimate* father/son story. Plus, too many favor the movie in the age old “what’s better, the book or movie?” debate. We contend this is only because too few movie-goers have done themselves the favor of digging into Mario Puzo’s masterpiece.

For every dad:

mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

To Kill A Mockingbird.  Two words: Atticus. Fitch.
