UIL Annual Fiction Writing Contest

The University Interscholastic League and Texas Book Festival sponsor an annual Fiction Writing Contest which is open to all Texas middle and high school students. Students are invited to submit a piece of original fiction on a specific topic to be judged by several of the Texas authors scheduled to appear at the 2008 Texas Book Festival. This year’s theme is Last Man Standing. Entries are submitted in three divisions: Grades 7-8; Grades 9-10; Grades 11-12. First-place winners are invited to the Book Festival and are recognized at an awards presentation on Saturday, November 1 from 2-3 p.m. in Capitol Extension Room E1.012.
