Tanya Lee Stone at the 2008  Texas Book Festival

Tanya Lee Stone

Stone is a former editor and award-winning author of nearly 90 books for young readers, including the YA novel A Bad Boy Can Be Good for a Girl (Random House), named to the Texas Tayshas List. Her newest nonfiction titles have received starred reviews and other honors. These books include Elizabeth Leads the Way: Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the Right to Vote (Holt, 2008), Sandy’s Circus, and Up Close: Ella Fitzgerald (both Viking, 2008). She regularly speaks at conferences and has contributed to VOYA, SLJ, and the New York Times. She is currently teaching Writing Children's Literature at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont.
