 Michael Largo
A fitting follow-up to his wildly successful Final Exits: The Illustrated Encyclopedia of How We Die, Michael Largo's The Portable Obituary: How the Famous, Rich, and Powerful Really Died, is an irreverent and entertaining anthology of the unusual, unbelievable, and often grisly ways that celebrities and public figures have departed. Largo examines the ultimate demise of famous actors, musicians and politicians, as well as the sorted lives of lottery winners, murderers, and feminists. Largo also reveals details about how a person's deeds - good and bad - influenced their mode of death. The Associated Press has said, "This book is a fun roundup of a lot of lives, and a handy companion for those times when you're wondering, "Whatever happened to...?" Largo, who has spent over a decade researching the way people die, used published obituaries, archeological records, and forensic interpretation techniques to compile this all-inclusive reference to legendary deaths.
