Imagine your pets running amok while you are away from home. Then imagine them picking up every musical instrument they can get their paws on, inviting other animals into your home (including ones from the zoo), and forming their own band! That's what happens in Jennings' artful romp The Animal Band. This picture book includes the cat Rock, dogs Walter and Thomas, and many other delightful characters. Jennings applied his background as an illustrator to writing and illustrating Animal Band, using his beloved cat Rock as one of the central characters. Jennings lives in Austin; this is his first picture book.
