 Kate McMullan
It’s impossible to talk with Kate McMullan or to read her picture books and novels without laughing. Humor oozes from her very pores. Her elegance is deceptive. She is really a prank-puller at heart, which probably made her a spectacular fourth-grade teacher. I Stink!, illustrated by her husband, Jim McMullan, began with a disgruntled Kate being awakened by a New York City garbage truck every morning at 6:00am while she was on deadline for a manuscript. Kate has a knack for turning trouble into comedy. In spring 2007 she will release I’m Bad!, also illustrated by Jim McMullan, and starring a T. Rex.
