 Steve LeVine
Steve LeVine, author of The Oil and the Glory: The Pursuit of Empire and Fortune on the Caspian Sea, was a foreign correspondent covering the Caucasus and Central Asia from 1992 to 2003. From offices in Almaty, Baku, Tashkent, and Tbilisi, he covered the region for Newsweek, Financial Times, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and finally, The Wall Street Journal. Before that, he was Newsweek’s correspondent for Pakistan and Afghanistan, he also wrote for Newsday from the Philippines. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
